Now, I know I wrote about Misawa Air Show last year but I didn’t have any pictures of the actual event because I was working a booth and honestly it was quite gloomy. This year I worked the same booth (different location) and it was sunny, warm and clear skies! I now have a great photographer for the blog so let’s take a look and see why we talk about the Misawa Air Show all year long!
Misawa Air Base holds a Special Olympics event every year in hangar 949. There’s a lot of music, dancing, food and of course, games! Looks like the everyone had a great time this year!
You can volunteer for Special Olympics as a chaperone for an Olympian or a Japanese/English interpreter.
Tanabata Festival is based on one of my favorite Chinese/Japanese folklore stories: The Cow Herder and the Weaver Girl. I missed this festival last year and was happy to walk through the traditional decorative streamers.
